Borin Line is a leading Italian company in the design and production of machinery and systems for industrial hygiene. With consolidated experience, the company offers cutting-edge solutions for washing and sanitization in highly demanding sectors such as food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic. As a manufacturer, Borin Line not only supplies the systems but also guarantees a complete service of installation, maintenance, and assistance, managing a vast fleet of machines distributed throughout national and international territories.

The Need

In an increasingly competitive market, the efficiency of after-sales service is a key differentiating factor. Borin Line faced the need to transition from a reactive to a proactive assistance model.

The main challenges were:

  • Lack of real-time data: Having a clear and immediate view of the operation, performance, and any alarms from machinery installed at dozens of different clients.
  • Inefficient intervention management: Planning maintenance or repairs without knowing the exact nature of the problem in advance, resulting in extended machine downtime for the end customer.
  • Difficulty in monitoring distributed machines: Centralized management of a heterogeneous machine park by model and location, ensuring each client the right level of service.
  • Offering added value: Going beyond the simple supply of machinery, offering clients a digital tool to monitor their assets and improve their operational efficiency.

The goal was to equip themselves with a centralized platform that would allow them to "dialogue" with machines, anticipate problems, and transform raw data into a strategic advantage.

Our Contribution

Fancy Pixel provided Borin Line with the solution to these challenges through Connect, our web application for collecting and enhancing machine data. The platform was configured to meet the specific needs of a machinery manufacturer like Borin Line.

Here's how our contribution made a difference:

  • Centralized Data Collection: Connect acquires all operational parameters sent by Borin Line machinery (e.g., wash cycles, temperatures, consumption, operating hours) in a structured manner and makes them available in a single, real-time accessible dashboard.
  • Customized Dashboards and Fleet Monitoring: We implemented intuitive dashboards, "Grafana"-style, that allow Borin Line technicians to monitor the entire installed fleet. Thanks to multi-tenant management, it was possible to create differentiated access for distributors and end-customers, allowing them to view only the machines under their responsibility.
  • Predictive Maintenance and Proactive Alarms: The customizable alarm system notifies technicians via email when critical thresholds are exceeded or in case of anomalies. This allows for identifying a potential fault before it occurs, planning a targeted intervention, and drastically reducing machine downtime for the end customer.
  • Simplified Assistance Management: The platform includes a module for managing maintenance interventions. Every operation, with the relative spare parts used and costs, is tracked, creating a complete history for each individual machine and simplifying the accounting of activities.
  • Remote Control and Configuration: Through Connect, Borin Line can securely send commands and new configurations to connected devices, without the need for physical intervention for every update.

Thanks to the cloud architecture on AWS, the solution guarantees Borin Line and its customers a secure, scalable, and always updated service, transforming the assistance service into a powerful customer loyalty tool.
